In the first instance, a company or organisation which wishes to apply for ISAS Accreditation or change its current accreditation status should make contact with the ISAS Scheme Manager via info@isasaccreditation.org or through the ISAS website www.isas-accreditation.org.uk. Upon receipt the Scheme Manager will contact you to discuss your application in more detail and guide you through the process.

All companies/organisations wishing to apply for ISAS Accreditation must meet the scheme Qualifying criteria.

These include:
  • Having insurance in place appropriate to response activities and project size.
  • Demonstration of Health and Safety Policy & Procedures
  • Successfully passing a due diligence review
  • Proof of Competent Persons within the business relevant to the categories applied for

When the scope of the accreditation application has been determined, the Scheme Manager will then arrange for visits to operational bases to verify stated capabilities and make an assessment of capacity and competency.

The applicant will be advised whether their application has been successful and, if so, what level of accreditation has been awarded

Accreditation lasts for 3 years subject to payment of annual accreditation fees and submission of spill reporting. Thereafter subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme and ongoing assessment of capabilities by the ISAS Scheme Assessor, accreditation will continue on an annual rolling basis.

Accreditation award can be suspended or revoked as a result of significant organisational changes, loss of skills / capabilities, upheld complaint or prosecution for health & safety or environmental offences.
